FAQs

General

What issues can this kit fix?

+

Surface scratches, haze, fingerprints, grime, dull holo finishes, and light edge scuffing are all fixable. Issues like deep creases, missing paint, permanent marker, and deep gouges through the holo layer are typically permanent and can't be fully restored by any product.

Is it safe to use on vintage cards?

+

Yes, absolutely. Our products are safe for vintage cards. However, we always recommend testing on a lower-value card from the same set first — cards from the same set are made of the same material, so you'll know exactly how your valuable cards will respond before you touch them.

Does it work on non-Pokémon cards?

+

We've tested on multiple Pokémon sets, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering, and sports cards with great results. It's impossible for us to test on every single card set ever released, so we can't guarantee results on all cards — but the products are designed for standard trading card surfaces. As always, test on a lower-value card from the same set first.

Should I practise on a cheaper card first?

+

Absolutely. Always practise on a lower-value card from the same set first. Cards from the same set are made of the same material, so you'll get a feel for how the products work before touching your valuable cards.

Is card cleaning accepted by grading companies?

+

Many collectors clean their cards before submitting for grading. Grading companies don't officially endorse card cleaning, but submitting a clean, well-presented card gives you the best chance of a fair assessment. Always ensure all product residue is fully removed and the card is completely dry before submission.

How do I get the best results?

+

Take your time — card restoration is a slow process that rewards patience. Don't try to rush it or press too hard. Start with cleaning, get comfortable handling cards and using the spray, then move on to the scratch cream. The more cards you work on, the better you'll get. And always practise on lower-value cards before working on your best stuff.

What's included in the Complete Card Restoration Kit?

+

Scratch Reduction Cream (30ml), Card Cleaning Spray (50ml), Edge Restoration Tool, Centering Tool, Magnifying Tool, 5 Microfibre Pads, 5 Foam Swabs, 10 Bamboo Picks, 10 Precision Cotton Buds, 4 Foam Mats, 2 Nitrile Gloves, Instructions & Care Guide, and Storage Box.

Are the pads and swabs reusable?

+

Yes. The microfibre pads and foam swabs can be washed and reused multiple times.

Can I buy refills separately?

+

Yes — refill bottles of Scratch Reduction Cream and Card Cleaning Spray are available separately.

Shipping

How long does delivery take?

+

We dispatch same day for orders placed before 3pm on working days. All orders are shipped via Royal Mail 48, so you can typically expect delivery within 2–3 working days. Shipping is free on orders over £20, and £2.99 for orders under £20.

Do you ship internationally?

+

Unfortunately not at the moment. Due to restrictions around shipping liquid products internationally — including classification requirements and carrier limitations — we're currently UK-only. This is something we're actively looking into for the future, so watch this space.

Card Cleaning Spray

Can I spray the cleaner directly onto my card?

+

No — never spray directly onto the card. Spray a small amount onto a microfibre pad, or into the bottle cap and dip a foam swab into the liquid. Direct spraying can cause liquid to seep into the card edges.

What does the cleaning spray actually do?

+

It lifts fingerprints, surface grime, dirt, and residue from the card surface without damaging it. Safe for holo, reverse holo, and standard finish cards.

Should I clean the card before using the scratch cream?

+

Yes. Always clean the card first with the spray and let it dry completely before applying any scratch reduction cream. This removes loose dirt that could cause additional scratching during polishing.

How do I avoid damaging the card edges?

+

When wiping, use gentle strokes in one direction. Avoid rubbing back and forth. Stay away from the card edges and corners as these are more prone to liquid damage.

How long does one bottle last?

+

Each 50ml bottle cleans hundreds of cards. You only need a small amount per card — a couple of sprays onto a pad is enough.

Scratch Reduction Cream

What types of cards can I use the scratch cream on?

+

The scratch reduction cream is designed for holo and shiny card surfaces only. Do not use it on standard non-holo card faces — the micro-abrasive formula is specifically calibrated for the harder, glossy surface of holographic cards.

What about cards with raised textures or glitter effects?

+

Some cards have glitter, texture, or sparkle effects that sit on top of the card surface rather than underneath the clear coat. If the texture feels raised or looks like it's been applied over the top of the card, do not use the scratch cream on those areas. The cream is a micro-abrasive and can remove surface-level embellishments. Rule of thumb — if the texture isn't under the plastic layer, keep the cream away.

Can I use it on autographs or serial numbered cards?

+

No. The cream is a micro-abrasive and will damage or remove autographs and serial numbers. Only use on the holographic artwork area of the card.

Can I use the cream on the back of cards?

+

No. Most card backs are uncoated paper. Only use on coated, glossy surfaces — typically the front of holo cards.

How do I apply the cream?

+

Apply a small, pea-sized amount onto a foam swab — gently, like spreading butter on bread. Using light circular motions, work the cream across the holo surface for 15–30 seconds at a time. Do not press hard or dig in. Then buff with a clean microfibre pad using gentle circular motions to remove residue.

Can I use too much cream?

+

Yes — less is more. A pea-sized amount is plenty for one card. Using too much can leave residue that's harder to buff away, and doesn't improve results.

What if the cream dries on the card?

+

Don't try to scratch it off. Simply apply a small fresh amount of cream on top and it will lift the dried residue away cleanly.

Will it remove deep scratches?

+

The cream reduces the appearance of light surface scratches and haze on holographic surfaces. Deep gouges or scratches that have penetrated through the holo layer cannot be fully repaired by any product.

Do I need to remove all the cream residue?

+

Yes — always buff the card thoroughly after polishing and ensure all residue is removed. Use the included magnifier to check. Allow the card to air dry before sleeving. This is especially important if you plan to submit for grading.

Do I need to let the card dry before sleeving?

+

Yes — this is really important. After cleaning or polishing, always let the card air dry completely before putting it into a sleeve, top loader, or any enclosure. If you sleeve a card while it's still slightly damp, the moisture gets trapped and can cause the sleeve to wrinkle. This can also cause problems if you're submitting for grading, as wrinkled sleeves can look suspicious to graders. Allow to air dry completely.

Can I overdo the polishing?

+

Yes. One or two light coats is all you need — especially on TCG cards. The goal is to restore the card's appearance, not to make it look unnaturally polished. This is especially important if you plan to submit for grading. Work gently, check your progress, and stop when it looks clean.

How many cards can I treat with one bottle?

+

One 30ml bottle treats hundreds of cards. You only need a tiny amount per card.

Edge Restoration Tool

How does the edge tool work?

+

The tool gently smooths and restores scuffed, rough, or whitened card edges by rolling the tubing across the edge with light, even pressure.

Should I use it directly on the card?

+

No — always place the card into a penny sleeve first, then place an additional penny sleeve over the edge or corner you're treating. The penny sleeve acts as a protective barrier between the tool and the card surface.

How much pressure should I use?

+

Very light pressure. This is about patience and repetition, not force. Pressing too hard can remove paint or indent the card. Hold the tool parallel to the card and work surface, and roll gently.
